The full register, from 13F filings
The Register tab above is hand research: a dozen holders, each traced to the filing it came from. This asks the same question of the whole market for the quarter ended 31-mar-2026, where 2,403 managers reported a position. Broad where the research is deep, and shallow in the ways a 13F always is.
2,403 managers reported a position, together holding 1.66bn shares, or 81.5% of the company. The 40 largest are listed.
Built from 13F filings, which report US listed, long, US custodied positions only. A register from this source is a floor rather than a level: a holder's true position can be far larger, as BlackRock's ASML stake shows at 1.28m shares in a 13F against 26.3m in its 13G/A. Holdings held through derivatives, outside US custody, or below a manager's reporting obligation do not appear. Where a holder is marked as a family, its total sums several separate filing entities and describes something no single filing describes; the constituent entities and their share counts are listed so the total can be checked. That roll-up can legitimately exceed the family's own Schedule 13G, because a 13G is filed by one legal entity: Vanguard reports Alphabet through ten advisory entities, and The Vanguard Group Inc itself reported zero after its January 2026 disaggregation.
What a reader needs to know to read these numbers
- Unusually for an operating company, Uber itself files Form 13F-HR (CIK 0001543151, most recent for the quarter ended 30 Jun 2026, filed 7 Aug 2026) because it holds a large portfolio of Section 13(f) securities received from divestitures and strategic investments. This 13F is the primary source for the sized, publicly listed holdings in this file (Grab, Aurora, Rivian, Lucid, WeRide, Joby, Marqeta) and is more precise than the 10-Q, which only breaks out Grab and Aurora individually and folds the rest into a combined 'Other' marketable equity securities line ($813 million at 30 Jun 2026; the five 13F-sourced 'Other' names here sum to about $723 million, leaving roughly $90 million of that bucket attributable to smaller positions not identified in this task).
- Didi Global is not on Uber's 13F because its shares trade only as an OTC American Depositary Share rather than on a national exchange; its $1,900 million fair value at 30 Jun 2026 comes from the 10-Q's non-marketable equity securities table, alongside a combined 'Other' non-marketable line of $2,263 million covering unnamed private positions (likely including Waabi, an autonomous trucking company that appears only as a named unrealized-gain line item in the FY2025 10-K MD&A, never sized on the balance sheet). That combined non-marketable 'Other' figure is not distributed to any single holding in this file.
- Delivery Hero SE converted from a marketable equity security to an equity method investment during Q2 2026 after Uber raised its stake to 24.99% for $2.3 billion, and on 16 July 2026 (after the quarter covered by the most recent 10-Q) Uber agreed to acquire the remaining 100% of Delivery Hero in a takeover offer valuing the whole company at $14.8 billion, expected to close in H2 2027. If that deal closes, Delivery Hero becomes a consolidated Uber subsidiary and should be removed from a future holdings list rather than sized as a minority stake.
- Trendyol GO (86% controlling stake as of 31 Dec 2025, acquired for $694 million in June 2025) is excluded from holdings as a consolidated, majority-owned operating business. The redeemable non-controlling interest in Trendyol GO belongs to Trendyol Group, i.e. it is someone else's stake in an Uber-controlled entity, not an Uber holding, and is not included anywhere in this file.
- Uber does not have a dual-class share structure; each share of common stock carries one vote. There is no founder-control block: co-founders Travis Kalanick and Garrett Camp do not appear as current officers, directors, or 5%+ holders in the 2026 proxy.
- SoftBank (via SB Investment Advisers (UK) Ltd, manager of the SoftBank Vision Fund) was Uber's largest shareholder after its 2018 investment, but its last Schedule 13G/A on Uber stock was filed 14 Feb 2022. No SoftBank-affiliated entity has filed a Schedule 13D or 13G on Uber since then, and no SoftBank entity appears in the 'Greater than 5% Stockholders' table of Uber's 2026 proxy (which lists only BlackRock, Capital Research Global Investors and Vanguard) or in any 13F checked in this task. This is treated as evidence SoftBank's stake fell below the 5% reporting threshold at some point after Feb 2022, not as confirmation of a specific current position or a full exit; no current SoftBank holding is recorded in this register.
- Register percentages mix three denominators depending on each row's source date: 2,058,115,983 shares (10-K cover, 10 Feb 2026) for the Dec-2025-dated Vanguard 13F row; 2,042,560,121 shares (Q2 FY2026 10-Q cover, 31 Jul 2026) for the four Jun-2026-dated 13F rows (BlackRock, State Street, Morgan Stanley, Geode, FMR); and 2,042,946,343 shares (the 2026 proxy's own 2 Mar 2026 record-date denominator) for the proxy-sourced rows (Capital Research, PIF, Alnowaiser, Khosrowshahi, the officers group). The three figures are within about 1% of each other and about five months apart.
- BlackRock's and Vanguard's Form 13F-HR figures disagree with the older Schedule 13G-sourced figures Uber's own proxy cites for them; both disagreements are recorded in the relevant row's method_note with both figures rather than silently overwritten, matching this database's house style.
- The 'All Current Executive Officers and Directors as a Group (16 People)' total of 77,878,487 shares is inflated by deemed beneficial ownership of Turqi Alnowaiser's Public Investment Fund (PIF) stake: 77,878,487 comfortably exceeds the 75,226,275 sum of the individually listed insider rows (Alnowaiser's combined 72,846,072, which itself is almost entirely PIF's 72,840,541 shares, plus Khosrowshahi's 2,380,203), confirming the group figure counts PIF's sovereign position as if it were officer/director-held. Do not read the 3.81% officers-and-directors figure as shares Uber's management team holds personally; the great majority of it is PIF's stake, attributed to the group only because Alnowaiser, a PIF executive, sits on the board.
- No em dashes are used anywhere in this file per the brief's house style.
Looked for, not found
Recorded rather than filled in. Each of these is a place where a number could have been invented and was not.
- Current per-share fair value and share count for Uber's Delivery Hero stake at the individual-share level; only the 24.99% ownership percentage, fair value ($3.1 billion) and carrying value ($3.502 billion) are disclosed as of 30 Jun 2026.
- Uber's current Didi Global share count and ownership percentage. The only sourced figures, 143,911,749 Class A ordinary shares (11.8% of Class A shares, approximately 6.6% of voting power), are from an 8 May 2024 Schedule 13D and are not confirmed current; Didi does not appear on Uber's 13F because its ADSs trade OTC.
- Current Grab Holdings and Aurora Innovation total shares outstanding, needed to convert Uber's exact, current 13F share counts (535,902,982 and 258,473,411 respectively) into a current ownership percentage. Only 2023-2024-dated denominators were found (from Uber's 2024 Schedules 13D), which would understate Grab's percentage (Uber's own share count is unchanged since 2024, but Grab has likely issued shares) and are stale and known-wrong for Aurora (Uber's Aurora share count has fallen since 2024).
- The composition of the 10-Q's combined 'Other' non-marketable equity securities line ($2,263 million at 30 Jun 2026) and the roughly $90 million gap between the 10-Q's 'Other' marketable equity securities line ($813 million) and the sum of the five 13F-sourced smaller marketable positions in this file (about $723 million). Checked the Q2 FY2026 10-Q and FY2025 10-K in full text; neither breaks either bucket out by name.
- Whether Uber still holds any Serve Robotics shares as of a recent date. The last confirmed figure (2,070,629 shares, 3.36%) is from a 23 Sep 2025 Schedule 13D/A; Serve Robotics does not appear on Uber's 30 Jun 2026 Form 13F-HR, which is consistent with either a further sale, a full exit, or the position falling below the 13F reporting threshold; no filing confirming which was located.
- Whether SoftBank (or SB Investment Advisers (UK) Ltd / SoftBank Vision Fund entities) currently holds any Uber shares below the 5% Schedule 13G/13D disclosure threshold. Checked EDGAR full text search for SoftBank-affiliated filers against Uber; the only hit was the 14 Feb 2022 Schedule 13G/A, with nothing filed since.
- Whether any other institutional holder (T. Rowe Price, Norges Bank, or additional Capital Group entities) holds Uber shares; the register here is capped at 7 13F filers plus Capital Research Global Investors (from the proxy) plus 3 insider/sovereign rows, covering roughly 31% of shares outstanding among the institutional and sovereign rows alone, to stay within the time budget.
- Uber's Q3 FY2026 10-Q, covering the quarter ending on or about 30 Sep 2026, was not yet filed as of 17 Aug 2026 per the EDGAR submissions feed, so no more recent equity-investments or Delivery Hero acquisition-progress figures exist to check.
