The full register, from 13F filings
The Register tab above is hand research: a dozen holders, each traced to the filing it came from. This asks the same question of the whole market for the quarter ended 31-mar-2026, where 2,680 managers reported a position. Broad where the research is deep, and shallow in the ways a 13F always is.
2,680 managers reported a position, together holding 819.6m shares, or 78.1% of the company. The 40 largest are listed.
Built from 13F filings, which report US listed, long, US custodied positions only. A register from this source is a floor rather than a level: a holder's true position can be far larger, as BlackRock's ASML stake shows at 1.28m shares in a 13F against 26.3m in its 13G/A. Holdings held through derivatives, outside US custody, or below a manager's reporting obligation do not appear. Where a holder is marked as a family, its total sums several separate filing entities and describes something no single filing describes; the constituent entities and their share counts are listed so the total can be checked. That roll-up can legitimately exceed the family's own Schedule 13G, because a 13G is filed by one legal entity: Vanguard reports Alphabet through ten advisory entities, and The Vanguard Group Inc itself reported zero after its January 2026 disaggregation.
What a reader needs to know to read these numbers
- Qualcomm's QSI (Qualcomm Strategic Initiatives) reportable segment, operated mainly through Qualcomm Ventures, discloses its outside equity portfolio only as combined balances with no per investee breakdown. At June 28, 2026 (Q3 FY2026 10-Q), the recorded value of marketable equity securities was $926 million, described as including growth stage public companies, none named. At September 28, 2025 (FY2025 10-K), non-marketable equity investments, including those accounted for under the equity method, consisted of investments in over 150 companies with an aggregate carrying value included in other assets of $1.4 billion, again with no investee named or individually sized. Per the brief, a combined balance covering many investees does not size any one of them, so no holdings rows are recorded and no investee names are guessed from memory.
- Qualcomm itself last filed Form 13F-HR on 13 November 2023 for the quarter ended 30 September 2023, and that filing (CIK 0000804328) held exactly one position: 289,102 shares of QUALCOMM INC common stock (CUSIP 747525103), i.e. its own stock, most likely held through an employee benefit or deferred compensation trust rather than a QSI equity stake in another company. No 13F-HR or 13F-NT has been filed under this CIK since then (checked against the EDGAR submissions feed for CIK 0000804328 as of 17 August 2026). Qualcomm's own 13F history is therefore not a source for its holdings in other companies.
- Shares outstanding used for the company record, 1,050,000,000, is the cover page figure from the Q3 FY2026 10-Q (period ended 28 June 2026, filed 29 July 2026), stated as of 27 July 2026. The same 10-Q's balance sheet reports 1,057 million shares outstanding at 28 June 2026 itself (1,074 million at FY2025 year end, plus 25 million issued, less 42 million repurchased through the quarter); the small difference from the cover figure reflects buybacks between 28 June and 27 July 2026.
- 13F register rows dated 30 June 2026 use 1,050,000,000 shares outstanding (the Q3 FY2026 10-Q cover figure, closest available to that 13F date) as the percentage denominator. The Vanguard row, dated 31 December 2025, uses 1,071,000,000 shares outstanding as of 3 November 2025 (FY2025 10-K cover), the closest available denominator to that date. The two insider rows use the proxy statement's own denominator, 1,062,916,212 shares as of 15 December 2025. Percentages are this research's own calculation against a stated share count, not lifted from a filing, except where noted.
- Vanguard and BlackRock figures disagree between sources. This register uses each manager's own Form 13F-HR (Vanguard: 114,144,068 shares as of 31 December 2025, filed under CIK 0000102909; BlackRock: 95,151,875 shares as of 30 June 2026, filed under CIK 0002012383). Qualcomm's DEF 14A filed 22 January 2026 instead reports Vanguard at 111,912,584 shares (10.53 percent) sourced to a Schedule 13G/A filed 10 June 2024 with an ownership date of 31 May 2024, and BlackRock at 92,564,761 shares (8.71 percent) sourced to a Schedule 13G/A filed 25 January 2024 with an ownership date of 31 December 2023. Both proxy figures are stale relative to the 13F data used here.
- Vanguard filed Form 13F-NT (notice, no holdings) for the quarters ended 31 March 2026 and 30 June 2026 under CIK 0000102909, so no more recent Vanguard position is available under that CIK; the 31 December 2025 13F-HR is the latest actual holdings filing.
- No Schedule 13D or 13G/A has been filed against Qualcomm common stock since the Vanguard 13G/A of 10 June 2024, per the EDGAR filing index for CIK 0000804328 (checked 17 August 2026). This is consistent with no activist or newly-crossing strategic holder in the period covered by this research.
- Qualcomm has a single class of common stock; no dual-class structure and no founder control block.
- Market capitalisation of $177.07 billion is the aggregator figure published by stockanalysis.com as of 14 August 2026 (share price $165.79), used only for company-level context, not for any position in the register or holdings.
Looked for, not found
Recorded rather than filled in. Each of these is a place where a number could have been invented and was not.
- Per-investee sizing of any Qualcomm Ventures / QSI stake, public or private. Searched the FY2025 10-K and Q3 FY2026 10-Q for 'equity method', 'marketable equity securities', 'non-marketable equity', 'measurement alternative' (not found, the filing uses 'no readily determinable fair value' language instead), 'unrealized', 'strategic investment' and 'other investments'. Only combined balances were found ($926 million marketable equity securities at 28 June 2026; $1.4 billion non-marketable equity investments across over 150 companies at 28 September 2025); no individual investee, public or private, is named anywhere in either filing.
- Whether Qualcomm holds any position in specific, publicly reported QSI portfolio companies (for example prior press coverage of Qualcomm Ventures rounds). Not searched beyond the SEC filings within the time budget; the brief instructs against naming investees from memory, and no filing-sourced name was found.
- Capital Research/Capital Group, T. Rowe Price, and Norges Bank (Norway's sovereign wealth fund via its global index mandate) positions were not sourced. These are common large holders of mega cap Nasdaq stocks but were not checked against their own 13F CIKs within the time budget.
- The Q4/full-year FY2026 10-K (fiscal year ends late September 2026) is not yet filed as of 17 August 2026, so any equity-portfolio change in Qualcomm's fiscal Q4 2026 is not reflected here.
- Whether the 289,102-share Qualcomm-INC-holding 13F-HR filer entity (last active 2023) still exists in some other, unlinked CIK; not investigated further since it is Qualcomm's own stock, not a holding in another company, and therefore out of scope either way.
