The full register, from 13F filings
The Register tab above is hand research: a dozen holders, each traced to the filing it came from. This asks the same question of the whole market for the quarter ended 31-mar-2026, where 2,952 managers reported a position. Broad where the research is deep, and shallow in the ways a 13F always is.
2,952 managers reported a position, together holding 1.30bn shares, or 75.1% of the company. The 40 largest are listed.
Built from 13F filings, which report US listed, long, US custodied positions only. A register from this source is a floor rather than a level: a holder's true position can be far larger, as BlackRock's ASML stake shows at 1.28m shares in a 13F against 26.3m in its 13G/A. Holdings held through derivatives, outside US custody, or below a manager's reporting obligation do not appear. Where a holder is marked as a family, its total sums several separate filing entities and describes something no single filing describes; the constituent entities and their share counts are listed so the total can be checked. That roll-up can legitimately exceed the family's own Schedule 13G, because a 13G is filed by one legal entity: Vanguard reports Alphabet through ten advisory entities, and The Vanguard Group Inc itself reported zero after its January 2026 disaggregation.
What a reader needs to know to read these numbers
- Disney does not file Form 13F (it is not registered as an institutional investment manager), so the holdings side of this file is sourced entirely from Disney's own 10-Q, 10-K and an 8-K equivalent subsequent-events disclosure, plus Fubo Inc.'s own 10-Q for the Fubo share count.
- Fubo is a controlling, consolidated stake (70 percent economic and voting interest, majority board control), not a passive minority holding. It is included because Fubo remains separately listed (NYSE: FUBO) with public float; readers should not treat it like the other, genuinely minority equity-method or cost-basis positions in this file.
- A combined balance sheet line, 'Investments, equity basis' ($6,319 million at 27 September 2025 versus $2,680 million at 28 September 2024), covers A+E, the 37 percent India joint venture (Star India/RIL) and other equity-method investees together. Per the research brief's rule against assigning a combined balance to one investee, none of A+E, the India joint venture or Tata Play Limited (a 30 percent cost/equity investment, reported separately from the equity-basis line) were assigned a value_usd from this combined figure; each is recorded with value_usd null and the ownership percentage the filings do state per investee.
- A+E is under a signed but not yet closed sale agreement (July 2026) for Disney to sell its 50 percent interest to an affiliate of Hearst Corporation, the JV's other 50 percent owner, for approximately $1.2 billion cash; this is recorded as the holding's value_usd with confidence 'contingent' because closing has not occurred and is subject to regulatory approval.
- Noncontrolling interests reported on Disney's balance sheet (for example the 27 percent of the international Disney/FX/National Geographic channel entity not owned by Disney, and Fubo's 30 percent public float) are other parties' stakes IN Disney-controlled entities. Consistent with the brief, these are excluded from 'holdings' entirely; they are not Disney's holdings in someone else.
- Percentages in the register are computed by this research against 1,726,686,902 shares outstanding as of 29 July 2026 (the Q3 FY2026 10-Q cover page), applied uniformly across 13F rows dated 30 June 2026 and 31 December 2025 and the proxy rows dated 15 January 2026. This slightly understates older rows' percentage-at-the-time since share count has likely changed modestly via buybacks, consistent with how the Broadcom reference file in this project handles the same lag.
- Vanguard filed Form 13F-NT (notice, no holdings) for the quarters ended 31 March 2026 and 30 June 2026 under its main reporting CIK 0000102909, so its most recent 13F-HR with an actual holdings table is for the quarter ended 31 December 2025; that is the figure used here and it is correspondingly the most stale row in the register.
- Disney's proxy statement separately cites older Schedule 13G/A figures for Vanguard (sole dispositive power over 143,719,231 shares plus shared dispositive power over 7,715,357 shares) and BlackRock (sole voting power over 109,797,441 shares, sole dispositive power over 122,883,021 shares), both smaller than the 13F figures used in the register. The 13F figures are used here as more recent and more granular; the disagreement is recorded here rather than resolved further.
- Disney has a single class of common stock, one vote per share; there is no dual-class or founder control structure. Robert A. Iger's insider position (about 0.14 percent of shares) carries no special voting rights.
- Market cap is calculated by this research (regularMarketPrice $106.85 from Yahoo Finance's quote API, times 1,726,686,902 shares outstanding), not read directly off an aggregator's market-cap page, because stockanalysis.com's page did not return readable data to the fetch tool used in this task.
Looked for, not found
Recorded rather than filled in. Each of these is a place where a number could have been invented and was not.
- Disney's proportional dollar value of its 70 percent Fubo/Newco interest. Fubo's total estimated fair value at the 29 October 2025 closing ($1.3 billion) is stated, but no Disney-specific dollar allocation of that stake is given in either company's filings, and Fubo's post-closing consolidated presentation means it is not separately marked to market the way a 13F minority stake would be.
- Standalone carrying values for A+E, the India joint venture (Star India/RIL, 37 percent) and Tata Play Limited (30 percent). All three sit inside Disney's combined 'Investments, equity basis' balance sheet line, which is not broken out by investee in the 10-Q or 10-K. Searched both filings in full for a per-investee table; none exists.
- The exact calendar day in July 2026 that Disney signed the A+E sale agreement with the Hearst affiliate. The 10-Q's subsequent events note only says 'In July 2026'; no dedicated 8-K disclosing the transaction was found in Disney's EDGAR filing history through 17 August 2026 (only one 8-K since June 2026, filed 5 August 2026, which is the same-day earnings 8-K accompanying the 10-Q).
- Whether Disney has filed, or is required to file, a Schedule 13D or 13G on Fubo Inc. reflecting its Class B stake. Checked Fubo's EDGAR SC 13D/13D-A filing history (CIK 0001484769): the only 13D filings on record predate the Fubo Transaction (2016 and 2021, unrelated parties) and none has been filed by Disney or Hulu since the 29 October 2025 closing, as of the check performed in this task.
- Capital Research/Capital Group, T. Rowe Price and Norges Bank (Norway's sovereign wealth fund) positions in Disney could not be sourced within the time budget; not investigated for this file.
- Whether Disney holds any additional minority equity stakes beyond those listed here (for example smaller content, technology or streaming-adjacent investments). Searched the FY2025 10-K and Q3 FY2026 10-Q for 'equity method', 'equity investments', 'non-marketable', 'measurement alternative' and 'joint venture'; the positions listed in this file are what those searches surfaced.
