The full register, from 13F filings
The Register tab above is hand research: a dozen holders, each traced to the filing it came from. This asks the same question of the whole market for the quarter ended 31-mar-2026, where 3,672 managers reported a position. Broad where the research is deep, and shallow in the ways a 13F always is.
3,672 managers reported a position, together holding 3.02bn shares, or 76.7% of the company. The 40 largest are listed.
Built from 13F filings, which report US listed, long, US custodied positions only. A register from this source is a floor rather than a level: a holder's true position can be far larger, as BlackRock's ASML stake shows at 1.28m shares in a 13F against 26.3m in its 13G/A. Holdings held through derivatives, outside US custody, or below a manager's reporting obligation do not appear. Where a holder is marked as a family, its total sums several separate filing entities and describes something no single filing describes; the constituent entities and their share counts are listed so the total can be checked. That roll-up can legitimately exceed the family's own Schedule 13G, because a 13G is filed by one legal entity: Vanguard reports Alphabet through ten advisory entities, and The Vanguard Group Inc itself reported zero after its January 2026 disaggregation.
What a reader needs to know to read these numbers
- Cisco itself files Form 13F-HR (CIK 0000858877) as a 13(f) securities manager for its own treasury investment portfolio. The latest is for the quarter ended 30 June 2026, filed 13 July 2026, with 6 line items totaling $405,215,728. Two of the six lines are iShares Core S&P Total Stock Market ETF (1,297,500 shares, $213,140,325) and iShares Core S&P 500 ETF (60,000 shares, $44,933,400): these are index-fund style positions and are excluded from holdings per the brief. The remaining four lines, CoreWeave, SpaceX, Navan and Rubrik, are recorded as holdings above.
- Cisco's FY2026 Q3 10-Q (period ended 25 April 2026, filed 19 May 2026) discloses a Non-Marketable Equity Securities balance of $2,946 million (versus $1,921 million at fiscal year end 26 July 2025). This is a single combined balance covering investments in privately held entities, venture funds and some publicly traded entities without readily determinable fair value, i.e. Cisco Investments' broader venture book. The filing gives no counterparty-level breakdown, so per the brief this bucket is not distributed to any named holding; it is not the same population as the four 13F-listed public/semi-public positions above.
- The same 10-Q's fair-value hierarchy footnote separately shows Marketable equity securities of $377 million as of 25 April 2026. That is a different snapshot date from the 13F's $405 million total as of 30 June 2026, and the 13F total also includes the two ETF lines, so the two figures are not directly comparable line for line.
- Cisco's 2025 DEF 14A (filed 28 October 2025, ownership table as of 28 August 2025) reports The Vanguard Group at 383,853,104 shares (9.7 percent) and BlackRock, Inc. at 351,115,676 shares (8.9 percent), both sourced to Schedule 13G filings from February 2024 and January 2024 respectively. Those figures are older and lower than the Form 13F-HR figures used in the register above (Vanguard 398,943,293 shares as of 31 December 2025; BlackRock 358,672,289 shares as of 30 June 2026). The register uses the fresher 13F data; the proxy figures are recorded here as the disagreement, not overwritten.
- Cisco has a single class of common stock, one vote per share, no dual-class structure and no founder-control block. Insider ownership is unusually thin for a company of this size: CEO Chuck Robbins holds only 526 shares of record per the beneficial ownership table (excludes unvested equity awards not vesting within 60 days), and all 15 current executive officers, directors and nominees together hold 487,889 shares, under 0.02 percent of shares outstanding.
- Shares outstanding (3,941,434,665) is taken from the cover page of the Q3 FY2026 10-Q, dated 14 May 2026 (period ended 25 April 2026, filed 19 May 2026). Cisco's fiscal year ends in late July; as of this research (16-17 August 2026) no FY2026 10-K had yet appeared in the EDGAR submissions feed for CIK 0000858877, so the Q3 10-Q cover page is the most current filed share count available.
- Market cap of approximately $447.78 billion as of 14 August 2026 is a rounded aggregator figure (stockanalysis.com), not derived from a filing; included for context only, not used in any pct_of_company calculation.
Looked for, not found
Recorded rather than filled in. Each of these is a place where a number could have been invented and was not.
- No FY2026 Form 10-K has been filed as of 16-17 August 2026 (checked the EDGAR submissions JSON for CIK 0000858877); it would refresh both shares outstanding and the non-marketable equity securities balance for fiscal year end (late July 2026).
- No breakdown by investee of the $2,946 million non-marketable equity securities balance (Q3 FY2026 10-Q). Individual Cisco Investments venture stakes, including any in named AI-infrastructure or security startups, cannot be sized from the filing; searched the 10-Q full text for 'OpenAI', 'Anthropic', 'strategic investment' and 'warrant' and found no named strategic equity stakes disclosed.
- No current Schedule 13D or 13G filers on Cisco common stock were checked individually beyond Vanguard and BlackRock's own 13F-HR filings; a systematic search of EDGAR full-text search for recent 13D/13G filings against CIK 0000858877 was not run within the time budget, so any sovereign wealth fund or activist position (for example Norges Bank, which does not file 13F) is not captured here.
- Capital Research/Capital Group and T. Rowe Price positions were not sourced; their current filer CIKs were not identified within the time budget.
- pct_of_target for the SpaceX line uses the equity-graph project's own SpaceX denominator anchor (13.18bn shares outstanding) rather than a fetched-in-task SpaceX source; flagged here rather than treated as independently sourced this session.
