The full register, from 13F filings
The Register tab above is hand research: a dozen holders, each traced to the filing it came from. This asks the same question of the whole market for the quarter ended 31-mar-2026, where 2,152 managers reported a position. Broad where the research is deep, and shallow in the ways a 13F always is.
2,152 managers reported a position, together holding 320.0m shares, or 80.5% of the company. The 40 largest are listed.
Built from 13F filings, which report US listed, long, US custodied positions only. A register from this source is a floor rather than a level: a holder's true position can be far larger, as BlackRock's ASML stake shows at 1.28m shares in a 13F against 26.3m in its 13G/A. Holdings held through derivatives, outside US custody, or below a manager's reporting obligation do not appear. Where a holder is marked as a family, its total sums several separate filing entities and describes something no single filing describes; the constituent entities and their share counts are listed so the total can be checked. That roll-up can legitimately exceed the family's own Schedule 13G, because a 13G is filed by one legal entity: Vanguard reports Alphabet through ten advisory entities, and The Vanguard Group Inc itself reported zero after its January 2026 disaggregation.
What a reader needs to know to read these numbers
- Adobe's fiscal year ends in late November. The FY2025 Form 10-K covers the period ended 28 November 2025 (filed 15 January 2026), and the latest Form 10-Q covers the period ended 29 May 2026 (filed 15 June 2026, Q2 FY2026), confirmed against the EDGAR submissions feed for CIK 0000796343.
- Adobe does not file Form 13F under CIK 0000796343: the submissions feed's recent filings list (checked 17 August 2026) contains no 13F-HR or 13F-NT of any vintage, consistent with Adobe being an operating company rather than an institutional investment manager.
- The holdings list is empty and that is the sourced finding, not a gap. Both the FY2025 10-K (period ended 28 Nov 2025) and the Q2 FY2026 10-Q (period ended 29 May 2026) were fetched and searched for 'equity method', 'non-marketable', 'measurement alternative', 'cost method', 'privately held', 'private companies', 'non-marketable equity securities', 'investments in privately held companies', 'strategic investment', and 'unrealized gain'. Unlike some peer companies, neither filing discloses any equity-method, cost-method, or measurement-alternative balance sheet line, combined or otherwise, for minority equity stakes. The 10-K's Item 1 (Business) describes Adobe Ventures, Adobe's corporate venture capital program, only narratively ('we invest in companies that are shaping the future of creativity, productivity, marketing and AI... We make strategic investments as opportunities arise') with no dollar figure, no combined carrying value, and no named investee anywhere in either filing. This contradicts the expectation that Adobe's 10-K would carry a disclosed combined cost-method/measurement-alternative balance for privately held companies; no such balance exists in the FY2025 10-K or the Q2 FY2026 10-Q, so nothing is available even as a combined, unsplit figure.
- Register denominators, kept apart per the brief. The four 30 June 2026-dated 13F rows (BlackRock, State Street, Geode, Morgan Stanley, JPMorgan, FMR: six managers) use 397,500,000 shares outstanding from the Q2 FY2026 10-Q cover (dei:EntityCommonStockSharesOutstanding, as of 11 June 2026). The Vanguard row is for the quarter ended 31 December 2025 (Vanguard's own CIK 0000102909 filed Form 13F-NT, a notice only with no holdings table, for the quarters ended 31 March 2026 and 30 June 2026, so no more recent Vanguard share count is available under this CIK); its percentage uses 410,500,000 shares outstanding from the FY2025 10-K cover (as of 9 January 2026). The three named-insider rows and the directors-and-officers-group row use the 2026 proxy statement's own denominator of 407,636,918 shares as of the 17 February 2026 table date.
- Proxy disagreement, recorded rather than resolved. The 2026 DEF 14A's own 'Security Ownership of Certain Beneficial Owners and Management' table lists Vanguard at 41,472,249 shares (10.17%, sourced by the proxy to a Schedule 13G/A filed 5 Feb 2026, as of 30 Jan 2026) and BlackRock at 37,969,080 shares (9.31%, sourced by the proxy to a Schedule 13G/A filed 25 Jan 2024, as of 31 Dec 2023, which is over two years stale). The register above uses each manager's own, more recent Form 13F-HR figures instead (Vanguard as of 31 Dec 2025 from its last 13F-HR before it began filing 13F-NT notices only; BlackRock as of 30 Jun 2026).
- Adobe has a single class of common stock, $0.0001 par value, one vote per share. There is no dual-class structure. Co-founders John Warnock and Charles Geschke are not listed in the 2026 proxy's beneficial ownership table (Geschke died in 2021; neither founder nor their estates appear among the 5%-or-greater holders or the current director/officer list), so no founder control block exists to report.
- Market capitalisation of $104.95 billion is the figure published by stockanalysis.com as of 14 August 2026, at a closing price of $264.02. Cross-check: 397,500,000 shares x $264.02 implies approximately $104.95 billion, consistent.
- Insider rows overlap. 'All directors and current executive officers as a group (18 persons)' (803,767 shares, including 36,138 shares issuable within 60 days on RSU vesting) contains the individually listed insiders (Narayen, Durn, Chakravarthy) above and must not be summed with them; it is marked as an aggregate with residual_label for the members not individually named in the proxy's table.
Looked for, not found
Recorded rather than filled in. Each of these is a place where a number could have been invented and was not.
- Whether Adobe Ventures holds any individually named, sized strategic or venture equity position, public or private. Searched Item 1 (Business) and every note to the Consolidated Financial Statements in the FY2025 10-K, and the condensed notes in the Q2 FY2026 10-Q, for 'equity method', 'non-marketable', 'measurement alternative', 'cost method', 'privately held', 'private companies' and 'unrealized gain'; no dollar figure or named investee was found for Adobe Ventures in either filing, only the narrative description in Item 1.
- Adobe's Q3 FY2026 10-Q, covering the quarter ending on or about 28 August 2026, was not yet filed as of 17 August 2026 (checked against the EDGAR submissions feed for CIK 0000796343). Any equity position taken or resized during that quarter would not yet be visible.
- Capital Research/Capital Group, T. Rowe Price, and Norges Bank (or any other sovereign wealth fund) 13F or 13G positions were not looked up individually within the time budget; only the seven managers named in the brief (Vanguard, BlackRock, State Street, Geode, FMR, Morgan Stanley, JPMorgan) plus the proxy's 5-percent-and-above and named-insider disclosures were pulled for the register.
- Individual director shareholdings below the three named executive officers (e.g. Louise Pentland, Cristiano Amon, Amy Banse, and eight other directors, each holding under 35,000 shares per the proxy) were read but not added as separate register rows to stay within the 8 to 12 row target; their figures are visible in the same DEF 14A source if needed.
